Drug Dispensary
Comprehensive healthcare includes access to medications. CVIM patients leave with their medications in-hand when departing a medical or dental appointment. We also offer one-on-one consulting with our licensed pharmaceutical team to help patients understand the importance of scheduling, administering, refilling, and the side effects of their medications.
All medications are provided to CVIM patients free of cost. Most medications are procured directly from pharmaceutical companies through their Patient Assistance Programs. A dedicated team of volunteers works diligently to apply for these free medications on behalf of our eligible patients. Additional medications are donated directly from the pharmaceutical industry, or sourced through non-profit partners:
CVIM does not dispense narcotics. Our Non-Opioid Pain Management Program centralizes an array of 30 specialty treatment options to manage ongoing pain without narcotics. This program helps prevent patients from turning to opioids to ease their pain and instead offers safe, effective alternatives.
Health Education
KK is a single, hardworking woman who drives a school bus for a living and takes care of her aging mother. She came to CVIM with chronic back, knee, and hip pain due to significant osteoarthritis. KK also had a history of opioid use disorder. Our clinicians enrolled her in our Non-Opioid Pain Management program where she received an individualized care plan including free non-opioid medications from our onsite drug dispensary, treatment by our athletic trainer who prescribed a variety of exercises, and cortisone injections for her knee pain. Later, KK herniated a disc by moving a large commercial-sized water jug. Through CVIM’s longtime partnership with Main Line Health, KK received an MRI diagnosing the herniation and the subsequent surgery to repair the disc. KK continues to be a patient at CVIM, remaining opioid free and maintaining her health so she may continue to work and care for her mother.
