Together We Heal
A Letter from Maureen, CVIM President & CEO
Community Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) provides free, high quality medical and dental care, behavioral health services, and medications for low-income, uninsured workers and their families.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, CVIM patients have been among the most vulnerable. During these unprecedented times, our Healthcare Center is open and serving the healthcare needs of our patients in new and creative ways. CVIM and our partners work together to provide:
- COVID-19 testing and treatment
- Clinical guidance and emotional support
- Vaccinations for our patients
CVIM is fully funded by philanthropy and staffed primarily by compassionate volunteers – both licensed clinical professionals and skilled support volunteers – providing healthcare, hope and healing. Our FY21 Impact Highlights showcase the work we have done in our community for our patients with the help of our generous supporters. Click here to watch our video version!

FY21 Impact Highlights
COVID-19 Response and Vaccination Update
The COVID-19 virus hit our shared community in March of 2020, and in March 2021, CVIM received the first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine at our healthcare center. Since then, we have vaccinated more than 1,382 people, and over 76% of our patients report being vaccinated, either by CVIM or elsewhere. Since the early days of the pandemic, our primary goal has been to help our patients navigate this crisis in good health. This includes outreach and education, understanding local health guidelines, access to COVID testing, treatment and vaccines, and supporting our patients’ ongoing needs for housing, food assistance, and employment. CVIM continues to work directly with our patients, our volunteers, and our community to protect everyone against COVID-19.
