Patients are the heart and soul of our mission here at CVIM. Our patients share their health journeys with us, and we want to share a few of their stories with you. Below are a number of patient stories and videos that will tell you what it is like to be a patient at CVIM.
Meet Sharon
Sharon was a patient of CVIM for about 7 years. She came to us she after being without insurance for approximately 5 years. At the time, she had a growth on her neck that had been unchecked for many years. Upon coming to CVIM, her growth was taken care of, along with any other medical concerns. She grew very fond of the volunteer doctors and nurses, knowing and remembering most of them by first name. She turned 65 in the summer of 2019, and utilized the services of CVIM to transition to Medicare. Upon her departure, she said that “at CVIM, I found community, respect, and support. Here, every patient is treated with care and dignity. It also amazes me that all of the volunteers donate their time to see us.”
Rosa’s Story
Rosa is a mother of four children who lives in Cochranville, PA. She was diagnosed with diabetes last year when during a routine visit, she complained of blurry vision and shoulder pain, and her blood test came back with high blood sugar levels. Through meetings with our volunteer doctors, and our staff Diabetes Coordinator, Carla, Rosa was able to learn about her diabetes diagnoses and how she could combat, if not reverse it. Rosa says “CVIM takes care of me and helps me to solve my health problems. Because of them I am able to feel good. Without CVIM, only God knows what would have happened to me, because I wouldn’t have had any access to healthcare. Thank you for all that you have helped me with, especially the volunteer doctors. They have taken me out of my sickness and helped me so much.”
Hector’s Journey
Before coming to CVIM, it had been over a year since Hector had seen a doctor. He came to CVIM in April 2019 after hearing about us through a co-worker. He had been having some health symptoms and was diagnosed with prostate cancer after a full health screening at CVIM. He benefits from our partnership with Main Line Health Paoli Hospital and their Cancer Center where he went for many tests and treatments, including a CT scan, a biopsy, and a bone scan. All of these tests were done as a part of his cancer diagnosis and treatment. Hector says “CVIM has helped me a lot. I am extremely thankful for the team and all they have to done to diagnose and treat my cancer”.
