CVIM helps those people in our community who work very hard yet still struggle. They do not qualify for government programs, but do not have enough to pay for health insurance because they work part-time (often at several jobs), work for minimum wages, are self-employed with inadequate income, are single parents, are unemployed due to a lay off, are a self-supporting college student, or college graduate, etc. In some cases, patients are refugees from various countries around the world.
Many of our patients suffer from long-standing chronic illnesses that require constant management. Among the most common are diabetes, obesity, hypertension, seizure disorders, asthma, chronic lung disorders, etc. An element of situational depression is obvious in most of our patients. They are struggling for basic survival - food, clothing, and shelter. Each of our patients is treated with dignity and respect in an environment that conveys a “Culture of Caring.” Our patients come in search of hope. They often relate, “CVIM is an answer to my prayers.”
